VCHR urges EU to put pressure on Hanoi to tackle human rights violations

On Wednesday 7 December, the Vietnam Committee for Human Rights (VCHR) urged the EU to put pressure on Vietnam, at their human rights dialogue in Brussels on 8 December, to tackle the serious human rights violations taking place in Vietnam. The VCHR describes 2016 as a "black year" for human rights, and calls on the EU to insist on the fact that the EU-Vietnam free trade agreement concluded in December 2015 provides for an increased respect for human rights.
