31/10/2016 (Agence Europe) – Regulation 2016/1903 setting fishing opportunities for 2017 for certain fish stocks and groups of fish stocks in the Baltic Sea was published in the Official Journal L295 of 29 October (see EUROPE 11643). Agreement was reached which included a 56% reduction (to 5,597 tonnes) in the total allowable catch (TAC) for cod in the western Baltic Sea. Next year will also see a cut of 25% (to 30,857 tonnes) in the TAC for cod in the eastern Baltic. (LC)
