05/9/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 5 September, the European Parliament’s internal market committee gave the green light for British Conservative, Vicky Ford, to open negotiations with the Slovak Presidency of the Council of Ministers on the revision of the EU firearms directive. The MEPs' position includes a ban on semiautomatic weapons if they can be reduced to a length of less than 60 cm and if the magazine capacity is above 21 rounds (see EUROPE 1153). (MB)
