17/06/2016 (Agence Europe) - ePure presents transport decarbonisation roadmap by 2030. On Thursday 16 June, ahead of the Commission's publication of its communication on decarbonising transport between now and 2030, the European renewable ethanol association (ePURE) launched its policy roadmap and recommendations on the role of ethanol in decarbonising Europe's road transport. ePURE believes that “the Commission should propose clear, consistent and binding measures that increase the climate performance of transport fuels. Incentives for the deployment of sustainable low carbon fuels are essential if Europe is to meet its 2030 climate goals”. It also insists that “the contribution of low carbon transport fuels, such as European ethanol - with its over 60% GHG savings - is necessary and must be fully promoted”.
