Brussels, 10/06/2016 (Agence Europe) - The implementing regulation on the maximum purchase price for skimmed milk powder for the first individual invitation to tender was published in the Official Journal of the EU of Friday 10 June.
Since the intervention ceiling of 218,000 tonnes has been reached, the Commission has to open a tender system. It has just proposed that the ceiling be raised to 350,000 tonnes but, while awaiting formal adoption, it has opened the public buying-in by tender procedure.
The maximum buying-in price has been set at €169.80 per 100 kg (corresponding to the intervention price). The Commission says that 36,361 tonnes have been bought-in at that price. Bids were lodged in 14 member states (Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and United Kingdom).
Ceiling. On Friday 10 June, the Commission adopted a proposal to raise the quantitative limits applicable to the set-price purchase of butter and skimmed milk powder. The new ceilings are 100,000 tonnes for butter and 350,000 tonnes for skimmed milk powder. The quantities bought in under the tenders procedure are not deducted from these quantitative limits.
