17/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - Two out of three EU airline passengers order tickets online. Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union published a press release on Tuesday, 17 May in which it indicated that in 2014 around 67% of airline tickets in the EU were purchased online. For transport, online purchases were primarily concentrated in the airline sector, followed by the Railways (52%), inland river ways (47%) and buses (22%) and to a much lesser extent, motor vehicles, (5%). Finland was the biggest online customer for airline tickets (90%), followed by the Netherlands (81%). Romania (23%) and Slovakia (27%) were the country's least likely to purchase online.
