02/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - New Normandy type ministerial meeting 11 May in Berlin. On Sunday 1 May, the German Minister for Foreign Affairs, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, announced that on Wednesday 11 May in Berlin, a new meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers in the Normandy format (Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France) would be held to discuss the crisis in the East of Ukraine. In an interview to the Sunday edition of Die Welt, the Minister explained that ceasefire violations and losses of human life were on the rise, which made it necessary to hold another meeting to define a different approach for overcoming the current stalemate between Ukraine and Russia. On Friday 29 April, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation In Europe (OSCE) emphasised that over the past few weeks it had observed the highest number of ceasefire violations in the Ukraine for months. Large numbers of weapons in storage and depots are again being used on the contact line, explained the OSCE. (CG)
