08/03/2016 (Agence Europe) - The names of the five prizewinners for the Single European Sky announced. On the sidelines of the world ATM (Air Traffic Management) Congress, which was held in Madrid, the panel of the first-ever Single European Sky prize, which aims to reward the projects which have made the greatest contribution to the Single European Sky, named its five winners on Tuesday 8 March. These are: COOPANS Alliance, Time Based Separation at Heathrow, The BOREALIS Alliance, Delivering FRA across Northern Europe by 2021, Remote Tower Services and Improvement of the Spanish Air Traffic Management Network Performance. For the first ever Single European Sky awards, experts from the European Commission and other bodies received a total of 22 dossiers involving 65 public- and private-sector entities from 27 countries. The Single European Sky, which remains at deadlock due to a dispute over Gibraltar between the United Kingdom and Spain, is one of the priorities of the Aviation Strategy presented by the Commission in December (see EUROPE 11448).
