08/03/2016 (Agence Europe) - Loan of €16 million from the EIB in framework of EFSI for wind farm in Sweden. On Tuesday 8 March, the European Investment Bank (EIB) announced its association with the specialist renewable energies fund Mirova-Eurofideme 3, which is managed by Mirova, a subsidiary of Natixis dedicated to responsible investments, for the construction of an onshore windfarm at Langmarken, in the County of Värmland, in Sweden. The EIB and Mirova-Eurofideme 3 will own 90% of the project via a joint structure alongside Eolus, one of Scandinavia's foremost wind power developers, which will own 10%. Eolus will build this 20 MW wind farm and be responsible for its operational management. This is the first project under the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) in Sweden, “a country which is a pioneer in the field of renewables and reducing emissions”, said the Commissioner for Energy, Miguel Arias Cañete. This is also the first co-investment in renewable energies under the investment plan for Europe. (EH)
