22/02/2016 (Agence Europe) - EBRD lends €85 million for electricity networks. On Friday 19 February, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Bank (EBRD) announced that it was granting a credit line to the state-owned Société tunisienne de l'électricité et du gaz (STEG). This loan could be worth up to €85 million and will be used to finance work for enhancing electricity links in north-eastern Tunisia. The goal is to “improve performance and reliability in the network for channelling and distributing electricity and preparing the Tunisian network for additional renewable energy capacity in the future”.
