04/02/2016 (Agence Europe) - Natural disaster prevention and response. PPRD Sud II is a programme for preventing, preparing for and responding to natural disasters provoked by human intervention. It receives funding from the EU (€5 million) and on Tuesday and Wednesday 2-3 February in Brussels, a meeting of its steering committee was held in an effort to draw up a balance sheet of its activities, of which its members are extremely pleased. One of the participants quoted in the final press release said “We have reached a state of maturity. We now need to move forward to a state of sustainability and taking ownership”. The managers of this three-year programme that comes to an end in August 2016 stated, “The PPRD is more than a project, it is an evolving process”. (FB)
