21/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - Valls warns of dislocation of European project in very short term. “Europe can exit history” due to the threats it is facing such as “the refugee crisis, terrorism, and the rise in populism”, France's Prime Minister Manuel Valls said forcefully at a debate at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday 21 January, as reported by French news agency AFP. In Valls's view, the UK leaving the EU would be “a tragedy”. Speaking later on the same discussion panel, British Prime Minister David Cameron did not come across as in a hurry to reach an agreement on recasting relations between the UK and EU, although the February European summit will mainly be dedicated to this challenge. “If there's a good deal on the table, I will take it. But if there isn't the right deal, I'm not in a hurry. I can hold my referendum any time up until the end of 2017”, he said. (MB)
