At its general assembly on Tuesday 8 September as part of Expo 2015, the European Council of Young Farmers (CEJA) elected, with 85% of votes, 30-year old Alan Jagoe as its president for a two year mandate. Jagoe is an Irish farmer (dairy, beef and arable) and chaired Ireland's Macra na Feirme organisation from 2011 until 2013.
