10/06/2015 (Agence Europe) - Movement for Europe of Nations and Freedoms support Australian model of migration. During a conference in Strasbourg on Wednesday 10 June, the Movement for a Europe of Nations and Freedoms expressed its support for the Australian model of migration. Australia applies the “Sovereign Borders” operation, which comprises a policy of systematic refoulement for migrants arriving by boat, and of sending them back to the transit country. “There is no model to be invented. The Australian model is needed rather than the Canadian one. This is the normal model from which Europe should take inspiration”, said Matteo Salvini from the Lega Nord in Italy. According to Marine Le Pen from France, migrants who are rescued at sea should be sent back to their countries or their country of departure. Members from the Movement again called for a return to border controls. Furthermore, they will launch a communication campaign in their respective countries against mass immigration. (CG)
