09/06/2015 (Agence Europe) - ESA to launch Sentinel 2A satellite on 23 June. On 5 June, the European Space Agency (ESA) announced the launch of the Sentinel 2A satellite as part of the EU's Copernicus programme. Sent into orbit on a Vega rocket from the Guiana Spaceport near Kourou, the satellite will observe dry land every ten days and will be used to analyse the environment (vegetation, soil, water) or will be used in cases of natural disaster (floods, volcanic eruptions, landslides)....
