Brussels, 05/05/2015 (Agence Europe) - YO!Fest is an event organised by the European Youth Forum. It will take place within the context of European Youth Week, which closes on 10 May. It consists of a free festival organised by young people for young people and includes debates, meetings and music. The activities will take place at the heart of the European institutions in the forecourt of the European Parliament in Brussels.
The theme of this 6th edition is 'Grow Together!'and highlights growth and sustainable development at different levels. The theme also encapsulates the idea that development concerns us all and will be tackled in all the various activities organised within theYO/Fest framework.
Growth and sustainable development are themes to tackle at all the different levels, from the personal, local or political. It involves building bridges and bringing people together, according to the Youth Forum. “Development is not only something that is happening in other countries in far away continents; it happens every day, in our communities and youth organisations are at the heart of developing young people and society. We hope… that this year's YO!Fest will build bridges and interconnect people, and this is what the European Youth Forum members, youth organisations, are achieving every day!” The Massilia Sound System, a band from Marseille, will be headlining this year's YO!Fest. This group has become a real social phenomenon and puts forward a variety of demands, including the protection of the Occitan language and the struggle against social inequality. (Isabelle Lamberty)
