06/02/2015 (Agence Europe) - Prolongation of Portuguese bank guarantee scheme. On Wednesday 4 February, the European Commission authorised the prolongation until 30 June 2015 of a guarantee scheme for banks in Portugal that was initially approved in October 2008 and prolonged a number of times, most recently in July 2014. The Commission says the measure is well-targeted, proportionate and limited in time and scope. (EL)
