Brussels, 07/01/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 6 January, the European Union hailed the framework agreement as progress, which was signed on 30 December between the government of the Republic of Djibouti and the Union for National Salvation. “It paves the way for immediate short and medium-term institutional and democratic reforms. The EU encourages both parties to implement the terms of the agreement fully, thus contributing to progress in the rule of law and to consolidating the foundations for a peaceful democratic climate, and to putting an end to the tension that the country has experienced over recent months”, the statement published by the spokesperson from the European External Action Service (EEAS) said (our translation throughout).
