Brussels, 28/10/2014 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 28 October, the European Commission gave its green light to the acquisition of the activities of the composite segments of CCP (Ireland) by PCCR USA, Inc, a subsidiary of Polynt Group SARL.
PCCR is a chemicals company active in the production and sales of resins for the coating and composite industry in the United States and Canada. CCP's activities in the composite sector consist of the production and sales of unsaturated polyester resins and gel coats internationally.
The planned transaction creates overlaps only on the market for the production of unsaturated polyester resins. The Commission concluded that the operation would not raise any problems for competition, given the modest presence of both parties on the market in question, but also the fact that there are other powerful players which will continue to supply this market and exercise competitive pressure on the entity born of the merger.
