Brussels, 08/10/2014 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 7 October, MEPs from the European Parliament's foreign affairs and development committees nominated the Ukrainian pro-European movement EuroMaidan, the gynaecologist and human rights Congolese national Denis Mukwege, and the Azerbaijani human rights campaigner Leyla Yunus as the finalists of the 2014 Sakharov Prize (see EUROPE 11162).
