In Accra (Ghana) on Friday 11 July, the European Union and heads of state from 16 countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) signed the economic partnership agreement (EPA) that had been under negotiation since October 2003 and was concluded in February.
