Brussels, 30/06/2014 (Agence Europe) - €250 million has been earmarked from the Cohesion Fund to help modernise the Polish railways. The European Commission approved the co-financing of this major investment project on Monday 30 June.
Around 20 new trains will be purchased and used in the Baltic North Sea and Baltic Adriatic railway corridors in the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). Of the total funding of €285.2 million, €185.5 million will be provided by the EU.
