Brussels, 11/06/2014 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 11 June, the European radical Left Group (GUE/NGL) was constituted definitively, it stated in a press release. The group has expanded due to the victory of the radical Left in many countries - such as in Greece with the Syriza Party - and it now has 52 members (a 50% increase). The GUE/NGL Group has been joined by Spain's Podemos Party, Italy's L'Altra Europa with Tsipras Party, and by Animal Rights parties from Germany and the Netherlands, as well was Spain's Bildu Party, and Ireland's Luke Ming Flanagan Party. Gabi Zimmer, the leader of the GUE/NGL Group, promised that the group would fight on urgent issues - such as the end to austerity, opposition to TTIP, and employment. (SP)
