IMF Director General Christine Lagarde (of France), speaking in London on Friday 6 June at a press conference to unveil an IMF report on the economic situation in the United Kingdom, said that she was not a candidate to become the next head of the European Commission, as she already had an important job that she had no intention of leaving. Her term of office as head of the IMF runs until 2016. (MB)
