Brussels, 30/05/2014 (Agence Europe) - At a ceremony in Aachen, Germany, on Thursday 29 May, President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy was awarded the Charlemagne Prize. In his acceptance speech, he did not mention the far right's rise in the European elections but he did stress the need to do more to turn Europe into a “home” rather than simply a “space”.
