Five experts downplay impact of German trade surplus

Brussels, 11/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - Research by five economists commissioned by the European Commission concludes that the German trade deficit has little impact on the eurozone economy.

The research by economists Kollmann, Ratto, Roeger, in't Veld and Vogel applies the DSGE economic model to three areas (Germany, the rest of Europe and the rest of the world), using quarterly data for the period from the Q1 of 1995 to Q2 of 2013 inclusive. It focuses on the following series of...
