Brussels, 24/03/2014 (Agence Europe) - Last week, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to the acquisition of Phunciona Gestion Hospitalaria, S.A. of Spain by LBEIP (Holdco) B.V. of the Netherlands, Global Via Infraestructuras, S.A. (GVI) and Obrascon Huarte Lain, S.A.(OHL), both of Spain. Phunciona manages and operates a public concession for the provision of non-health services to Hospital del Sureste, a public hospital in Arganda, Madrid. LBEIP is a pension fund manager that invests in infrastructure projects. OHL is a division of Villar Mir Group and deals with government concessions, infrastructure projects and services. GVI develops and manages infrastructure projects in OECD countries with a focus on the EU, and in particular on Spain, and North America. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, because it does not significantly alter the market structure. (EL)
