Brussels, 19/12/2013 (Agence Europe) - On 13 December, the European University Association (EUA) set out for the European Commission the main results reached within the framework of the cooperation agreement sealed in July 2012 between the Commission and five institutes, including the EUA, for building a robust European Research Area by 2014 (see EUROPE 10659). On the subject of cross-border collaboration, the EUA focused on the innovative partnership that it has established with the “smart specialisation platform” launched by the European Commission in 2011 and which is part of the Joint Research Centre (JRC). That partnership has made it possible to increase cooperation between universities and regions on research and innovation, the EUA was pleased to state. (IL/transl.jl)
