€7 billion over seven years for Galileo and EGNOS

Brussels, 06/12/2013 (Agence Europe) - €7 billion are to be granted to the European satellite navigation programmes Galileo and EGNOS over the next seven years, confirmed the EU Council of Ministers on Thursday 5 December when it adopted a new regulation to this effect. The cash will be used to continue the deployment of the EU's satellite navigation system Galileo and the running of the EGNOS satellite service to improve the accuracy of data from the United States' GPS.
