Brussels, 02/12/2013 (Agence Europe) - EU sugar producers, particularly those in Germany and France, will recover more than €330 million from member states because the sugar levies paid in the past were too high. This comes after a regulation was adopted without debate on Monday 2 December at the Council of Ministers of the EU (see EUROPE 10964). In total, reimbursements will amount to €295 million, including the €10 million already paid, plus €50 million in interest.
