Compared with the first quarter of 2013, GDP in the eurozone rose by 0.1% and by 0.2% in the EU28, according to figures released by the EU's statistical office, Eurostat, on Thursday 14 November. The highest rises were in Romania (1.6%), Latvia (1.2%), the United Kingdom (0.8%) and Poland (0.6%). Four countries are in recession: Cyprus (-0.8%), the Czech Republic (-0.5%), France and Italy (both -0.1%). (MB/transl.fl)
