Brussels, 12/11/2013 (Agence Europe) - On 13-14 November, experts will meet in Vilnius to discuss the advantages of Europe's diverse cultural heritage on different sector policies. Cultural heritage policy directly impacts on many other sectors of activity and has enormous potential for stimulating economic growth and job creation, says the Lithuanian presidency of the Council of Ministers. Participants at the two-day conference will discuss ways of improving the integration of cultural heritage into other European policies and thus developing positive synergies. Three seminars will provide concrete examples of successful integration of cultural heritage in agricultural, environmental and cohesion policies. A more general workshop on the interactive links between cultural heritage, tourism and education is also included in the programme. A final press release and specific recommendations on further developing the ideas in practice will be published at the end of the conference. (IL/transl.fl)
