On 4 October, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to the acquisition of Pride Foods (United Kingdom, bottled fruit juices under the Gerber Emig brand), by Dutch competitor Refresco. The merged entity will have to sell some of its Gerber Emig bottling plants in Waibstadt, Germany, in order to allay the Commission's concerns about the emergence of a dominant position in bottling trademarked juice in France, Germany and Belgium....
