Ten films are selected for LUX Prize 2013

Brussels, 02/07/2013 (Agence Europe) - The vice-president of the European Parliament, Oldrich Vlasak (ECR, Czech Republic), MEP Silvia Costa (S&D, Italy) and two members of the LUX Prize selection panel unveiled, on 30 June, the ten films selected to take part in the competition at the 48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, in the Czech Republic. The films in question are: 1) Alta sova dö (Eat Sleep Die) by Gabriela Pichler (Sweden); 2) Grzeli natli dgeebi (In Bloom) by Nana Ekvtimishvili, Simon Gross (Georgia, Germany, France); 3) Krugovi (Circles) by Srdan Golubovic (Serbia, Germany, France, Slovenia, Croatia); 4) La Grande Bellezza (The Great Beauty) by Paolo Sorrentino (Italy, France); 5) La Plaga (The Plague) by Neus Ballus (Spain); 6) Miele (Honey) by Valeria Golino (Italy, France); 7) Oh Boy! by Jan Ole Gerster (Germany); 8) Pevnost (Fortress) by Lukas Kokes, Klara Tasovska (Czech Republic); 9) The Broken Circle Breakdown by Felix van Groeningen (Belgium) and 10) The Selfish Giant by Clio Barnard (United Kingdom). The three films selected for the official competition will be unveiled on 23 July and the winner will be named in December. (IL/transl.jl)
