RASFF effective in 2012, to be extended to food fraud

Brussels, 10/06/2013 (Agence Europe) - In 2012, the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) of the EU proved its worth, with the number of notifications down, the triggering of rapid alerts in the event of a food risk being detected and 50% of notifications relating to food or feed rejected at the borders of the EU, the European Commission stressed on Monday 11 June, when the annual RASFF report was published.
