Horsemeat scandal gains momentum

Brussels, 11/04/2013 (Agence Europe) - Some 50,000 tonnes of beef meat suspected of having been contaminated with horse meat and sold as pure beef were discovered on Wednesday by the Dutch health authorities (NVWA). The meat had been distributed across 16 European countries, the European Commission confirmed on Thursday 11 April.
