On 27 March, the European Commission launched a public consultation on minerals mined in regions currently or recently in war and areas exposed to political instability or civil unrest, ahead of a possible Community initiative for responsible sourcing of minerals coming from conflict-affected and high-risk areas. The Commission wants to deepen its understanding of issues relating to the security of supply, supply chain transparency, and good governance. The consultation is open until 26 June. (EH/transl.fl)
