Brussels, 28/03/2013 (Agence Europe) - As part of the joint “Destination EUROPE 2020” initiative, launched on 6 November 2012 to promote Europe as a tourist destination of choice in four major markets (United States, Canada, Brazil and China), the European Commission and the European Travel Commission (ETC) is launching a competition entitled “EUROPE - A Never-Ending Journey”. Young filmmakers and students in the audiovisual field are invited to submit their suggestions for a three-minute film intended to set out to advantage the European Union's tourist assets. Proposals must be entered by 13 May. A panel of experts will select a shortlist of five applicants before selecting the author of the most creative idea on 21 June. The winning filmmaker will be invited to travel across Europe during July and August in order to shoot the short film based on his/her own ideas. The film must be finalised by 23 September. The winner will receive a budget of €20,000 as well as facilities for travelling around the European Union.
