EP President Martin Schulz said, on Wednesday 13 March, that the European Parliament had to find a way for marathon votes - like those held the same day on reform of common agricultural policy (see related article) - to be avoided. During the vote, Georgios Papastamkos (EPP, Greece) suffered a malaise. His medical prognosis was not known at the time of going to press. (MB/transl.jl)
