Commission is not alarmist over horsemeat fraud

Brussels, 20/02/2013 (Agence Europe) - With tortellini and ravioli containing 1% horse meat (Buitoni and Nestlé brands) having been withdrawn from the market in Italy and horsemeat having been identified in the Czech Republic in frozen lasagnes produced in Luxembourg, and with the legal authorities in Belgium talking about massive-scale trafficking in horsemeat which is believed to have ended in the country in 2011, the European Commission on Wednesday refused to give in to any alarmism...
