13/02/2013 (Agence Europe) - Catherine Ashton condemns attack at Turkish-Syrian border. On 12 February, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton “strongly condemned” the explosion that killed 14 people and left dozens wounded at the Cilvegözü border crossing between Turkey and Syria in Hatay the previous day, Ashton's spokesman announced in a press release. Ashton underlined that she stands with the Turkish authorities in the fight against all forms of terrorism. The French foreign ministry, who also condemned the explosion, expressed his solidarity with the Turkish authorities and people and also with the people of Syria. Furthermore, the ministry expressed concern at the risk that the Syrian crisis could spill over. (CG/transl.jl)
