12/02/2013 (Agence Europe) - Greek programme on track. The Greek structural adjustment programme is still on track, noted the Eurogroup on Monday evening. This should pave the way for disbursement of €2.8 billion in aid by the Euro Working Group on 21 February, as long as the February milestones have been implemented by the Greek authorities. The head of the Eurogroup, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, said that Athens had indicated it is in the process of doing so. To enable payment to take place, Greece must update its medium-term fiscal policy, including setting binding three-year expenditure caps for central government and healthcare. At the Eurogroup meeting, Greek Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras said he would be asking the International Monetary Fund for clarification on the implications for the Greek aid programme of the errors made in calculating the negative impact of austerity. Two IMF experts admitted last month that they had got the calculations wrong (see EUROPE 10758). (EL/transl.fl)
