Civil protection cooperation programme

Brussels, 12/11/2012 (Agence Europe) - Last week, the European Commission announced the launching of a new civil protection programme in the Mediterranean region (PPRD South 2) in Spring 2013 for three years. It will have a budget of €5 million.

The new civil protection programme will have a strong focus on prevention and preparation rather than on response to disasters. Cooperation between civil protection bodies will be developed and involvement of civil society encouraged. This...
