Brussels, 08/05/2012 (Agence Europe) - Syria has suffered losses of almost $3 billion as a result of EU and US sanctions imposed on the country's oil sector, Syrian Oil Minister Soufiane Allaou announced on Tuesday 8 May. The losses are due to the fall in Syrian production of around 35 million barrels since April 2011 and the first sanctions. Prior to sanctions being imposed, Syria exported 150,000 barrels per day.
