Brussels, 18/04/2012 (Agence Europe) - The trade ministers of the G20 group of countries (Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United States and the EU - including France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom) will meet in the first trade ministerial meeting in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on 19-20 April. Two working sessions are scheduled on the agenda: the first will be devoted to global supply chains and the value of all that supports their proper functioning (services, trade facilitation, financial assistance); and the second will discuss the links between trade, growth and employment. The general idea is to restate the G20's commitment to free trade and opposition to protectionist measures. EU Ambassador to the WTO Angelos Pangratis will stand in for Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht. The meeting will also be attended by the directors general of the WTO, Pascal Lamy, and the OECD, Angel Gurria. (EH/transl.rt)
