02/03/2012 (Agence Europe) - Go-ahead to General Electric/KGAL/Extresol-2 concentration. On Friday 2 March, the European Commission gave its go-ahead to the proposed concentration whereby the companies General Electric Company (USA) and KGAL GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) plan to acquire joint control over a newly created full-function joint venture (Extresol-2, Spain), by way of purchase of shares. Extresol-2 operates in the generation and wholesale of electricity primarily in Spain through its solar thermal power plant in Extremadura, Spain. General Electric Capital, the branch of General Electric Company that deals in global diversified manufacturing, technology and services, invests globally in energy assets. KGAL is an investment company concentrating in real assets and their structured financing. (OL/transl.jl)
