28/02/2012 (Agence Europe) - MEPs to meet Aung San Suu Kyi. A delegation composed of 11 MEPs are to meet the Burmese opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, on Wednesday 29 February in Burma, the European Parliament announced on Monday 27 February. This is the first time that Aung San Suu Kyi has received a delegation from the EP. MEPs are expected to invite the pro-democracy activist to express her views at the Parliament. The delegation will also meet with the Burmese president, several ministers and members of the opposition and civil society. They will attend the newly elected government to establish formal interparliamentary relations and will visit a project funded by the EU. (CG/transl.jl)
