Brussels, 10/02/2012 (Agence Europe) - The EU is about to ratchet up sanctions against Syria. At the end of February, it will put in place an embargo on Syrian phosphate exports, a freeze on the assets of the central bank and a ban on trade in diamonds and precious metals. Preliminary agreement among EU member states was reached at the end of the week but this 12th round of sanctions since spring 2011 has yet to be fully approved and is unlikely to be adopted before the end of the month....
