Brussels, 09/01/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 9 January, Catherine Ashton welcomed the release of the Malaysian opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim, who has been acquitted of accusations of sodomy. The EU high representative called on the Malaysian authorities to definitively revoke its laws on criminalising homosexuality.
