Strasbourg, 13/12/2011 (Agence Europe) - Deputy leader of the Greens/EFA Group in the European Parliament (EP) Daniel Cohn-Bendit has proposed removing the option of exclusion clauses, of opting out. “The process of clarification will continue for Europe with all member states without exception and with no opting out”, he said at a press conference on Tuesday 13 December. “The situation in Europe has to be simplified so that there is no more opting out for anybody. The EU means the euro, and after that we can think about a market”, he added. He stated that Denmark must ask itself about the euro, on which it has an opt-out, just like Sweden, which has no opt-out on the single currency but where the people have on various occasions voted against in referendums.
